GEA has worked to advance more humane and effective global systems that secure economic and social well-being for all the world's peoples by:
1. Furthering efforts for the eradication of poverty and the empowerment of women and children through "Education for All" (EFA) programs. GEA has worked with EFA programs that attend to the economic mainstreaming of women. Meaningful literacy and numeracy components are connected to increasing and sustaining employment and earnings opportunities.
2. Promoting the ratification and implementation of treaties and agreements, such as the Convention on Eliminating Discrimination Against Women.
3. Demonstrating and fostering the relationship(s) between peace, justice, human rights, democratic participation, environmental responsibility and economic and social well-being through publications, programs, and advocacy activities.
